Involve was established in 1975, known then as Maidstone Volunteer Bureau, to recruit volunteers and respond to local need in the community. Almost 50 years on, Involve are now leaders in social prescribing and other innovative approaches to improve wellbeing in communities.


Involve struggled to describe their services to a new audience effectively. Despite their significant positive impact on the local community, they found it challenging to articulate their identity. Despite substantial investment in resolving this issue, they hadn’t achieved success.


In many cases, showing is more effective than telling. Through comprehensive user research, we developed relevant user journeys and a design strategy that visually communicated Involve’s services. This was achieved through the implementation of a navigation item labelled “How We Can Help,” supported by imagery, video, and text-based prompts.
