Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated health and social care services to around 765,000 people across Hull, the East Riding of Yorkshire, Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale. Their services include mental health, community care, learning disability support, addiction services and primary care. The trust employs around 3,000 staff across more than 70 sites.

Background

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust needed a new partner to take over the management of their Umbraco intranet and extranet. The platforms were business critical but needed ongoing support, clearer structure and improvements to make them easier for staff and external users to use day to day.


They were looking for a team that could handle the day to day running of the platforms, while also helping them improve how people find information and use the sites.

Solution

The work focuses on keeping the platforms reliable and accessible, while making practical improvements that reflect how staff and users actually use them.

In the first year, this included:


• Auditing and updating the websites to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards, helping make the platforms accessible to a wider range of users
• Redesigning the intranet and main homepage to support a clearer, more user focused structure
• Adding AI powered search across both platforms, making it quicker for users to find the information they need
• Prototyping a new leaflet library to improve access to documents and patient information
